This role performs repairs, corrections, replacement, inspections, documents, and files accordingly and reports back to Maintenance Supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities:Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment; primarily loaders, shears, grapple, skid steers, forklifts, tractor/trailer, shredder.Perform daily preventive maintenance on equipment as requiredFollow the dress code and compliance of proper PPE at all timesWork independently in the absence of direct supervisionPrepare all necessary documentation [Bill of Ladings, Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Tool Orders]Conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, PLC’sWelding, grinding, weld set-up, and torchingSet up and break down machineryTransportation maintenance QualificationsRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or GED, Trade school2 years minimum experience in Maintenance/ MechanicHydraulics, pneumatics, electricalExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProblem-solvingWelding, grinding, and torching experienceSort and identify tools and partsPass a pre-employment drug screeningPass a pre-employment background checkWilling to work overtime and weekends when necessaryPhysical Requirements:Sit, stand, walk, and stoop for long periodsAble to climb in/on mobile equipmentExposure to physical operations in scrap recycling facilities, including walking/climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces in inclement weatherAdditional InformationEqual Opportunity Employer Statement: BlueScope Recycling Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values and respects the importance of a diverse and inclusive workforce.
